Cute, Clever and Contagious: The HEMA Website

14 February 2008 · 2 Comments

HEMA action

At first, the website for the Dutch department store HEMA (http://producten.hema.nl) looks like a bland generic ecommerce site. But wait a few seconds (or just click on the cup) and sit back and enjoy…

In terms of branding, it presents HEMA as a fun place. (I’d love to know if the store reflects the marketing.) In terms of communications, this is completely viral: it’s been mentioned on several sites, and is reaching far beyond it’s intended audience. (I got it from a Danish buddy living in Silicon Valley.)

It’s creative. It’s strategic. It’s web marketing that works. Go HEMA!

That is awesome! I love it. If only I could read Dutch!

HEMA is like Target of Netherlands, very reasonably priced and agressive with SALES (REA) etc… Always trying to somehow keep the products trendy, colorful and functional.

I loved shopping at HEMA Utrectht.
